Get Bent Yoga Classes

     Ease In To Yoga
 

A gentle class involving movement in each pose to gain understanding of the body while working out the kinks. Appropriate for people with arthritis, cranky backs and aging bodies.

These classes are relaxed and social with lots of laughs. All ages and levels are welcome to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and modest level of exertion.  These classes focus on gentle stretches, movement based exercises, and restorative poses.  Custom made extra soft mats make these classes a very pleasant experience.

Ease in to yoga classes are also suitable for those who are practicing yoga for cardiac and injury rehabilitation purposes.

       Restorative Yoga
 

Restorative Yoga focuses on the internal benefits of each posture. How circulation, organs and breath is affected. Poses are relaxing and held for minutes at a time. Relaxing and letting go is the main goal of these classes. When this takes place, all the internal benefits of yoga can take place.

    Chair Yoga
 

Chair Yoga classes cater to those who have limited mobility (e.g. difficulty getting down to the floor).  Exercises are done seated in comfortable chairs with arm rests.  These classes focus on developing joint mobility and muscle strength along with understanding and accepting the capabilities of ones’ body.

 

 

 

       Beginner Yoga
 

Beginner classes introduce participants to the basics of yoga.  Whether you are highly active or dealing with health challenges, Get Bent’s beginner classes are welcoming, adaptive and build a strong core and foundation.  Postures are modified to meet each person's needs and encourage you to work at your own pace.

 

    Building Your Strength
 

This is a challenging yoga class that focuses on poses to build your strength, stamina and endurance.  It also gives you an good understanding of alignment and mechanics of movement.  Previous yoga experience is required to enjoy this class to its full potential.  These classes are great for athletes and students looking to increase strength and gain a deeper understanding of their bodies and the benefits of yoga.

     Transitioning Your Practice
 

These classes help you transition from "trying to do the poses" to "being in the poses".   Learn more about how your body responds to yoga postures and what you need and can receive from each pose. Classes focus on a central theme (e.g. standing, seated, forward bending or inverted poses) and poses that target specific area of the body (i.e., chest, hips, lower back).   Basic experience is an asset.
