Get Bent
opened its doors in
January 2004.
Through the
generosity of community supporters
and volunteers, Get
Bent programs have
rapidly expanded to
serve the
Okanagan.
Within a year, Get
Bent classes outgrew
the original 500 sq/ft space and
relocated to a 1,200 sq/ft
space.
However, it didn't stop there.
In
October 2007, Get
Bent upgraded to a beautiful 2000 sq/ft
facility in the
historic Cannery
Trade Centre in Penticton,
BC, Canada.
Today, Get Bent is a
full-time
organization
providing over 30
classes per week to
hundreds of people.
Get Bent classes are
also offered at
community centres
throughout
the South Okanagan
including:
The Penticton Community
Centre
Oliver Parks
& Recreation
Bodies
on Power
Upper Similkameen
Indian Band in
Hedley
The Get Bent
School of
Bellydance &
Performing Arts
Get Bent is now one of Western
Canada's largest
full-time belly
dance schools.
Along with
recreational
dance classes,
Get Bent offers
serious students the
opportunity to
attend the
year-long
"Performance
Training
Program" at
the
Get Bent
School of Belly
Dance &
Performing Arts.
Collectively,
Get Bent dancers
perform over 80
shows each year
and tour
throughout
British
Columbia.
At the Penticton
location, Get
Bent also offers
a
"Belly
Dance
Boutique" full of
beautiful costumes,
belts & jewellery.
Get Bent
wouldn't be
where it is
today without
the wonderful dedication
&
support of every student,
teacher,
volunteer & community
supporter.
These people are
the glue who
have helped
create a true
"community
facility" enjoyed
by many youth,
adults &
seniors
within the
region.
Get Bent
wholeheartedly
thanks everyone
for their
continued
support to help provide a safe
environment "to
build healthy
individuals &
a healthy
community".
